Default transmission service

I was going to have my transmission and transfer case serviced by a local transmission shop (I don't have the space or time to do it myself). I know, after reading on here, that I shouldnt get a transmission flush on my older tranny so I am going to tell him to just drop the pan, let it drain out, and then put it back together using a bottle of lucas in the mix. Is there anything that is different on a Land Rover than on any other car that I should tell the guy about? I was reading on here the steps to fill up the transmission properly but I figured you would have to do this on any car so the guy probably knows. Any advice?

Ohh and should I replace the transmission filter? Thanks alot

Yes, first ask them if they know how to fill and recheck the fluid level, many don't. Second, you only need to us an allen wrench to drain the tranny,. need a 1/2 racket with an extension to do the diffs and t/case.
You can do it out of a drive way in a little over an hour and save yourself alot of labor.

You don't have to change the filter. It should be changed on the first tranny service and nothing after that. That would be the only reason to drop the pan, and like Mike said, it is easy and can be done in the driveway.

This will not change all of the fluid, though. Drain and refill after running 3 times, or shorten you change intervals.
