Default Transmission shift to reverse issue

I had posted in the past about this problem but after unplugging the transmission controller gear shift problem went away.. Now its back.. There is not a trouble code to be read and no M & S lights...Battery under load tester reads 11.2 volts 12.0 just sitting there and engine not running. The alternator is new. Things I have tried:

Drained fluid added 3 qts and a bottle of seafoam per instructions.

Unplugged transmission controller: result m&s lights flash truck goes into reverse and drive but it seems like forward gear is 3rd gear.

Tested battery

Read up on this system in Rave.

to this point I dont know what else to do..
I am thinking about trying to take up any slack at the XYZ switch and gear linkage.

Any suggestions?

How many miles on the tranny, how often do you service it? Go get you charging system checked, voltage may be low, should be between 13.6 and 14.4.
Any fault codes lately?

705, tranny range sensor circuit malfunction.
You need to find a good Rover shop that can work with that code to fix your problem.

Where is the transmission range sensor? Is it inside the tranny or outside?

Quick update for reading ..After scratching my chin and reading Rave sections about transmission systems several things came to mind.
1. What did I do differently while driving..? Well I went off road at faster speeds than normal and crossed 2 creeks and 1 of those creeks was pushing water up to my headlights. Maybe WXYZ switch got soaked problem is I shut the truck off after words a took a walk..got back in later and drove it home crossing the creeks again..
2. Well I changed my tranny fluid the day before this happened and got three qts out but only put 2 back in and the tranny seemed full..but on reading instructions again I should have had the truck in neutral not park while running. So I added the third qt the day I started having transmission troubles thinking this would fix it..It did not..so now was it low fluid that caused the glitch or crossing the creeks and generally having a great time doing it?
3.While trouble shooting battery issues I checked the voltage on my battery with a volt meter it read 12 volts static and under a load tester it read 11.2.. I was getting close to figuring it out I thought..I disconnected the battery for the night to check it again in the morning..as I checked it the next day it was at 13 volts...it was a cold night so maybe that helped somehow...This voltage issue is crazy..I have decided that my battery may be part of the problem along with my EAT ECU..because I have been plugging and unplugging this unit to try and figure this out...This has been going on now for 5 days checking things and reading...I noticed that the red lights along the gear selector would come on and stay on for a minute while in park gear after having the battery disconnected over night then poof they would go out for P,R,D,&3rd gear also the LCD on the dash would not show anything in those gear positions.

Today I go out after the truck sat for 24 hours plugged in the EAT ECU connected the battery and guess what...? I have all gears and transmission runs fine...

This is not the end of this ghost I am sure...So I ordered a used EAT ECU and will also replace the battery to see if I can solve this...

I hope I have explained my troubles enough to help anyone else out there..

I will post any new findings soon.

Maybe battery or ground problem. Many grounds in the system. XYZ switch may have dried out a little, but could still have muck inside. Can be removed, opened up, cleaned, re-sealed.
