Question Transmission slip

2000 disco II auto

The truck is slipping (mild) in 3rd and 4th gear. when you go through the gears manually it doesn't slip at all. I replaced the transmission filter and fluid and the problem is still there. the vehicle doesn't hesitate going into gear when you start it up it's only while driving. I thought it might be a pump seal, but with no hesitation upon start up i have ruled that out. could it be a solenoid?

I took it to the shop and it's putting out two codes:
active code is p0734- gear 4 incorrect ratio
pending code is p0733- gear 3 incorrect ratio

any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you didn't clean the MAF when it was stone cold, then reinstall after totally dried, it will most likely fail and need to be replaced.
I am thinking that since you don't have any of the other codes that would show up with a failing MAF, like running too rich or lean or one of the 100-1004 codes, that you have have another issue, especially because when a 733 or 734 code shows up together it is more likely a tranny issue.
Let us know what you find?

Are you saying the D2 MAFs can be cleaned this way? As long as I can remember, all I have ever heard was D2 MAFs CANNOT be cleaned. I have never had a problem with mine, but I couldn't see the harm in cleaning one with electrical cleaner, and would only think of doing it cold.
