FYI, if you need those plastic grommets that go under the tread plates for the screws, you can get them at your local hardware store that carries parts from Hillman Group. I had my hardware store order a small box for me.
I scarfed 12 of them at the local U-pick in Largo. thx. they came out pretty clean...I thought they would be brittle and break. will bookmark that link though. thx.
finished up the trim piece for the door gasket to rest on. seam sealed everything...one little corner transition from the horizontal run to the vertical for the door gasket trim.
got her all done. just have to let the final coat of paint dry good before installing the carpet (which I had to remove a ton of rust stains from it). then the seat gets rebolted.
not sure about the striker plate but you can adjust the window frame. Remove the door panel and loosen the bolts at the bottom. This allows the window frame to tilt. I had to do this to get rid of some wind noise. I have been following this post as I have some floor rot in the same area. Great job!
Still one of my favorite mods = installing RRC aluminum plates vs the stock D2 plastic ones. Had to cut on them a little, but no more brittle plastic!!! I have a set on my 95 D1 and 02 Kalahari. Sadly very $$$ if you buy them online & hard to find unless a RRC shows up at a junk yard near you.
Great idea. I had to get mine out of the UK on Ebay, but will be delivered in early January. (I ordered in early December.)
