Default Trouble codes: P1412 & P1415

Hi, driving his afternoon, the service engine light came on. My code scanner from ebay does not have Land Rover as a manufacture thus showing no description only the codes. P1412 and P1415

I have cleared the codes to wait if it comes back on again. I assume this has to deal with emissions? Would changing the mufflers caused these codes? After each drive, the truck would have a strong foul smell. I keep thinking is the welding fume or maybe the coating is breaking in.

They are Secondary Air Injection codes and you probably ought to let a mechanic tackle those.

Sure, what year is your Disco?
This is an emmison device that pumps more fresh air into the exhaust to help the cats burn of the junk.

I went ahead and added it into my sig. 1996 Discovery I 4.0. Does that system have any other names, I remember talking about that in auto class, in highschool mind you, and I thought it had another name.

P.S. Mike this is Brian, I tried to talk to you last night twice, during the hail storm and right when you sat down to eat. I hope there isn't to much damage to your vehicle(s) or house. You can call me back whenever your done dealing with the damage and have some free time, I understand it will probably be a hetic day lol.

I just wanted to know what they did mike, I had no idea what year model they came on. The only car I have that I work on alot (besides this one) is a 1992, so what little emissions it had have been removed. (Track only car, almost never drive it down the road).

So theres nothing I can inspect or change? Broken hose or vacuum tube?

But my concern is--is the muffler mod that caused the trouble codes? Had anyone else on this board experience the same codes before? How did you trouble shoot it?
