Trouble codes - what should I do?
First off, this is my first post. I have been looking at Land Rovers for quite some time. I have been trolling these forums now for a few weeks, doing some research on these vehicles that for some reason im loving right now. Finally picked up a 99DII the other night. I will be driving it as a "second" vehicle (it has taken preference over my BMW for some reason

Basically I have a solid good running vehicle, no major leaks, appx 125k miles, in decent shape. Most little quirks im working out. I do most work myself if possible, im not down with the high end labor prices.
The truck had the CEL on when I purchased it and yeah I took a gamble and bought it anyway.
I replaced the plugs today with Bosch 4's, waiting on my magnacores, and will be performing DISCO MIKES service routine this weekend. The idle settled down a little after the plugs, probably moreso after the wires go on.
I am getting a "rich" smell... kind of like exhaust with a hint of rotten eggs or sulphur?? I pulled codes P0102, and P01884. Truck is running rich, gas mileage sucks (maybe normal, I havent had it long enough to calc mileage) Help would be appreciated.
Love my rover, sorry about the long post.

after more research I think the P01884 is a tranny related code, common to come along with the maf fault. Im pretty sure I can feel a little hesitation between 3rd and 4th gear when i let off the gas.
Should I get a new MAF?

Welcome to our little forum.
Hold off on a new MAF, wait until you can get the new wires on and the induction cleaning and the like.
You are running rich because of weak spark. The new wires should clear that right up.
If it continues then replace the O2 sensors.
After you get the new wires on then clear the codes and wait and see.
Make sure that you are using premium gas.
