Truck won't start after Heater Core and Head Gasket replacement

IIRC that is the ground for the injector harness (could be wrong though, that's what comes to mind) It's one of those wires the factory puts on before the body is installed so it's a pain to install, I used to relocate that ground to a bolt on the top rear of the engine, I think one of the bolts that holds the fuel rail to the intake.

Won't know until you try. This is the problem with "long distance" diagnosis, when I'm looking at a vehicle in person there are a lot of things I check without thinking (force of habit) that don't get passed on over the internet. I just remember the PITA wires at the back of the engine when I did head gaskets (a very frequent occurrence at the dealer)

On the USA Discovery II on the Driver' side.
Or the right side when looking into the engine compartment with the hood/bonnet propped up..
On the rear of the driver's cylinder head
is a braided wire.
Connects from the head to the fire wall.
Please assure said wire is in place.
I strongly doubt that will make any difference at all.
Please check:
MAF plug
Throttle position plug
Also -
If you did not number your spark plug wires as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
how did / can you assure you are on the correct spark plug?
I am betting you have two cylinders switched on each side and you are only running on 4 cylinders.
Don't try to pull the wires off the plugs with the engine running unless in
your younger years you had an affection for electric fences. You may get shocked again.
Plus you'll damage the ignition coils = perhaps.
You should have pending misfire codes.
Please pull the pending codes and fix the associated cylinders.
They start at #1 on the driver's side and alternate side to side and to the back.
I doubt you have the coil plugs swapped. It would probably not fire at all.

Alright so my mechanic buddy came over today. Overall we are still unsure of whats going on with the truck, it does not idle still and dies out.
However we started the truck and we started pulling spark plugs. Surprisingly the truck sounded much more normal, almost as if it was idling with plug wire 8 disconnected. The truck would still die out but when given gas it was close to sounding normal. Some wires had more spark than others when he was pulling them. When all wires were plugged up it sounded like ****. The truck finally threw a code today but we are unsure if that it just from pulling the wires or if it is something else. We'll have it scanned tomorrow.
Thoughts? best guess? Damaged spark plug wires?
