Trust a coolant flush/exchange at the local Quick Lube?
I'm about to have brand new head gaskets and rebuild heads, and I'm thinking it's time to switch from Dexcool to green stuff (Global).
It's winter and I dont have a good spot to do this at home.
Would you trust a local quick lube-type shop to do the exchange/flush? Anything I should ask in particular to make sure they're NOT going to gunk up my coolant system?
Thanks.

I doubt that even they could screw up a coolant exchange since they just usually just hook it up to the machine and let it go. BUT, personally I wouldn't do it if you're changing coolant types. Unless they really flush it good, which I doubt they would, it seems like there would be some mixing going on of the two different coolants and that is not good. If I were to switch coolants I think I would rather drain, flush with lots of water, fill with water drive and drain (a few times), flush and then but the new coolant in. I don't have any experience with exchange machines though.
no way would I let a shop do the flush. I worked at a quick lube place a long time ago..we would just hook up the machine and it re-cycled the coolant or something..I'm not exactly sure what it did..we never changed any kind of filter or added any new coolant to the machine.
btw, I flushed mine and put in prestone extended life that they claim will mix with any coolant..it's yellow and about $11/gallon

Oh ye of little faith
........."THEY" left the oil drain plug off (yes, OFF
) of my wife's old '87 Honda and let her drive off with no oil. She got about a block and the oil light kicked on so she drove straight back....their explanation was "OOOPS."
How the guy didn't notice the quarts of oil spilling onto the floor is beyond me.

mentally retarded **** for brains workers at jiffy lube or valvoline? are you kidding me. i would rather bring my truck to the zombie apocalypse and let them work on it. same level of service at no cost.
I'm embarrassed to admit it but I left the oil fill cap off a customers car one time..guy came back and there was oil all on the engine. I was only 19 or 20 at the time and didn't know very much about working on cars...not trying to make an excuse it was 100% my fault ..just making the point they hire inexperienced people and pay low wages and expect quick work when it gets busy.
Just take it to a regular shop and let them do it.
I guy I used to work with worked at a quick lube on the weekends, when they got really busy they didnt change the oil filters just drain and fill and go.
