There's a couple back there but they're all conneced to something. This one just comes up from along the firewall and loops over about 2 inches.

Any ideas?

thanks,

Billy

This is your breather tube for the either the transfer case or transmission.

Pretty much got'r done. I need to replace the intake coolant hose and clamp, it's dripping a little, and I busted the throttle body coolant hose. The hose and clamps are holding but I'm gonna replace it anyway. I'll say it's pretty freakin' amazing how much more responsive it is. Gotta be the Magnecor wires.

No, not the TYPE of RTV...should RTV be applied around the four water ports?

Does using a steel rather than composite valley pan gasket make a difference?

I would, I did mine per the RAVE the first time with no RTV and had a slight leak (using an OEM gasket), had to redo it which was no fun at all considering I was just in there. Actually, I got completely pissed off and RTV'd the world pretty much after that, but no leaks and runs perfect so I'm ok with deviating from the RAVE on this one.

Do yourself a favor and change out the injector O-rings while it's apart too.

Did you use RTV on BOTH sides of the valley pan gasket (head AND intake manifold sides)?

I'm using a Payen plated steel gasket this time; will that make any difference?

I would RTV it regardless of which gasket you use, better safe than sorry in my book. It definitely won't hurt anything.

Default unknown coolant leak

I have a 2003 discovery 2 that I recently had the upper radiator hose assembly blow. I have repaired it but when I have the car running, coolant is still spilling out the bottom. The temp gauge in the car stays cool but the red hot light is still on. My thoughts are that the water pump is pumping the coolant but maybe the hose is off on the end of the pump.

Anybody else have any experience with this? Where should I look first?
