I took off my inlet manifold to change fuel injectors and found that the ports for cylinders 6 and 8 were shiny clean compared to the other 6. See the picture. Does this mean anything? (Obviously, I'm thinking head gaskets) The problem I was having was cylinder 8 misfire that persisted after plugs and wires change. I was losing coolant slowly, but it stopped after I found and fixed a hose that leaked under pressure and put a can of K-seal in it.
Mine are all light brown, you might want to check the coolant hose at the front there. Mine died in big way, you could basically spin it around with the hose clamp tight.
So, just to follow up, I ended up tracing my cylinder 8 misfire to a bad ignition coil pack. Changed it and it went away. My guess about the thing I saw in the picture is maybe the computer was compensating for the misfire by sending more fuel, which in turn sucked more of the air in that direction, so when I did sea foam treatment on the intake it pulled all the seafoam in that direction and only those two pipes ended up getting cleaned.
Not sure how much sense that makes, but it's the theory I'm going with. In any case, just passed my emissions test yesterday so I'm a happy camper.
