u-joint replacement/D2

I really try not to jump on the bandwagon calling anyone's stuff 'crap'. I realize it was the shop, etc but you should be 100% objective when it comes to your vehicle and your wallet.
I have, at this point seen I think every single brand there is of U-Joint break on the trail. After they broke... they all looked like crap.

Just replaced the the u joints on the front drive shaft today. No problem till one of the pin bearings went sideways and jammed everything up. Did my best to fix the problem and everything else went fairly smooth. Quick question as I am fairly new to auto repair, but not new to a tool kit. The front drive shaft went right back in, marked everything so the alignment was the same, tried to stagger the zerks on the end caps, but is there any noise, vibrations, or things I should look for the next couple hundred miles or so? Just want to be sure I did everything right.

Would any of you buy a used drive shaft? What if it is an HD from GB or a TW that could be had for under $150? As long as it has been maintained (and even recently rebalanced), shouldn't it be okay? An HD from either brand runs 3x that price, and even the normal duty ones that are fully serviceable cost at least 2x.
