A little bit further done today. New fuel pump is in. Routed the lines to the regulator/filter combo so that the filter can be easily changed in the future if needed. Also built a heat shield to protect the transmission linkage / cooler lines from the exhaust. It’s a pretty tight fit under there, but we are making it work!

Next step will be dropping the body back down. A lot of the interior is stripped out of the body so we can make modifications for the new shifter, new gas pedal, and line the floor with dynamat for more sound / heat insulation.

I like the heat shield between the exhaust and the transmission. Nice touch!

Lot of progress over the last few days - the body and frame are reunited! Now the long process to connect and reconnect everything.

Started with the GM ECU, which we have fitted inside the jack box. Where the wires go in will be resealed after everything is up and running. Nice and tidy, water-resistant place for it.

Also reinstalled the radiator. Because the drivetrain is a bit longer than the factory engine / trans, the engine had to move forward a bit, which means it’s not possible to use a viscous fan. We found these pre-made electric fans and shroud that with slight modification fit right on the factory radiator. The factory trans cooler was eliminated and the radiator was moved forward to gain some extra room.

And finally fitted an ARB twin air compressor in the rear to power the air lockers.

Really is looking good ! Sorry if I missed. Didn’t see the size tires and you mentioned 3” lift. What springs and shocks did you decide to use?

The tires are 275/70R18 Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT, which is about a 33 in tire. The lift is a Terrafirma 3 in with the extended length shocks, which we have found to be good at supporting the extra weight of the drivetrain in our other builds.

We’ve mostly been working on tidying up everything. Today we prepared to get the rock sliders and rear bumper on. A bit of cutting for the rear bumper is required. We also did a preliminary mounting of the transmission cooler. Because of the changes we had to make to the radiator, the trans cooler has moved up in front of the A/C condenser.

The old frame went off to be scrapped today. It had a ton of rust - most I've ever seen. I'm glad we were able to save the truck with a new galvanized frame.
