As long as it is OBDII compliant it will work but gauge availability will vary.

The TD5 is a computer managed diesel so I can only assume that you should get SOME useful information out of it. How much I cant tell you though $60 isn't that much to give it a try. Maybe give them a call and see if they know of people that have tried it on a TD5.

If you can't plug in an OBDII code reader, like at a parts store, then the Ultra Gauge is not for you.

Hi Savannah, that's what I don't understand I can plug in a OBD11 scanner, indeed I have a Hawkeye, but according to the Ultra Gauge web site none of the Land Rover 2.5 Diesel engines are OBD11 complient ???. Unless I'm reading it wrong.

I'll bet that the UG web site is in error. Does your Hawkeye show coolant temp?

The ultragauge website just shows known compatible vehicles then goes to say that ANY OBDII compliant vehicle will work but the gauges that become available can vary significantly.

I've not tried the Hawkeye to test coolest temp,I bought it for identifying the Three Amigos. I'll download the Hawkeye manual and see how to read the coolest temp.

That's why I was wondering if any members had the Ultra Gauge connected to their Diesels.

Here's the Bearmach application matrix. Look in the column marked "Live Data" for your vehicle. That Hawkeye, or Hawkeye Pro, should be an asset, especially if you are more than a quick wrecker ride to the dealership.
