Ultragauge or ?
Good to know.
My daughters came with a stack of maintance records, all from a LR dealer. Head gaskets were done along with a radiator and lots of other stuff. That was quite a few years ago but on about 25k miles ago.
We bought this during the winter. It was a very cold winter here in PA this year and the heater works very well. We had to turn the heat down because it would get way too hot, even with outside temps in the single digits.

I ordered the ultragauge last week, should be here in the next few days.
I double checked the coolant level and it was a little low, about 2 quarts. Also changed the oil and filter.
Drove it and the needle stayed right in the middle, no more up a little and then back down.

That's good. Your temps should stay around 200 give or take a few degrees... unless you have a 180 thermostat. My '99 usually stays around that. Our '04 is a degree or 2 higher, around 205.
I'm not sure what the "cut-off" line is for too high of a temp, but I've told my wife if it gets above 215-220, then pull over and shut it off.

I'm using a cheapo wifi OBD plugin and "dashcommand".
No idea what I'm not getting that I'd get with an ultra gage but I'm pretty pleased with it.
I can clear codes and monitor temperatures - both real time and over time.
Something around $35 for the hardware, $9.99 for the software.

To get accurate mileage and speed readouts, you'll have to calibrate the UG to your car. There is a write up on how to do it in the UG forum on their main website.
I have yet to calibrate mine. It shows I'm averaging 14 mpg's. In reality I'm around 12 mpg's. If you ever change tire size, it'll have to be re-calibrated.
