Cool Ultragauge oil warning wont go away but ticking did

My UG has been irritating me lately. Keep getting a alert about oil miles or something. Ive looked through the menues and even tried using the clear check engine codes option to try and reset the alert but still no luck, every time i start the truck the alert comes back. The only thing i can do is suspend the alert while im driving but like i said every time i restart the vehicle it comes right back. For the record I just changed my oil this past Sunday so theres no doubt that the oil is both good and full as indicated by the dipstick.

Any thoughts?

On a side note ever since I changed out my old thermostat for the TDI 180 Ive noticed both cooler engine temps and virtually no engine ticking. I dont want to jinx it but it seems like the engine tick corresponds to higher engine temps. Before my average engine temp was 198 highway and 212-117 city, now its 185-188 highway and 195-197 city. Im very happy in any case.

Most likely it is telling you its time to change your oil. I think it defaults to 3 or 5K miles. You have to change the mileage. I don't remember the actual menu item to change but it can be found in the downloadable manual.

My ticking disappear as well after a new radiator and 180 tstat for about 8 months or so. It came back a couple months back but its very intermittent.

disable the UG alarm... problem solved... reference the Manual link above, pretty straightforward.

I reset the trip miles, unplugged then plugged back in the UG and still no luck. Ill look in the manual posted above, hopefully there will be a solution.

Yes, there is one that monitors the oil DISTANCE - watching the mileage count and starts alarming each time you drive.

Menu button -> Gauge/Page Menu... -> Oil Distance (about 6th down on the list)

It's confusing, because it's an alarm, but it's not the official reading alarms (like temperature being read from the ecu)
