ok, and I leave the 'Audio amplifier spatial imaging enable' connector disconnected?

Also, to connect the blue system control line to the system enable pin 5 on the grey connector, should I split the grey wire so it is connected to both the blue wire and the iso connector?

thanks
Mark

Connecting the pin 5 to the amp control seems to be enough, and i now have sound!! Thanks a lot

Do the steering wheel radio controls still work?
Or do you need to buy a seperate part to do that?
Would you post some more info on how well this radio does or doesn't work?
I like the idea of the big screen, but still fitting the single din opening.
I'm fixing lots of mechanical things now, but am looking around now for which radio to buy when I'm ready.
Thanks for any more info.

Hi, it should work but have not tried it yet. Unfortunately I only have a little time each week since im also preparing it for a short overland trip, so the stereo has lower priority

So managed to connect the steering wheel controls, which really was not hard... just a question of crimping in two wires. You can find how to do that on youtube.

Overall the radio works very well and does not need a huge a mount of work once you know what you are doing. the contact person from Joying was also really helpful and tried his best to help. His English was also surprisingly good

So overall the radio works well, has very good standard navigation software (iGO), bluetooth music playing works well, reversing camera is also easy to install on it, i can use the steering wheel controls, can connect my phone and use it as a hands free kit and my daughters love watching youtube on it while waiting for mum

The downsides are that it suffers from normal android issues, ie the fact that all software is done by different entities and does not feel that theye were all tested together (for example after using the phone the radio does not always come back on its on) and the screen it self is quite reflective and you cannot see it clearly in bright sunshine... of which we have plenty where i live.

the only thing i have pending is to connect the dash camera to it. somehow it is not working, maybe i just got a defective camera.

let me know if you have any questions.

hi,this is a long shot but i am trying my luck.
i installed a joying single din on my discovery 2 but cannot get the steering control to work. Can you kindly advise which wires (key 1 and key 2) to which wires did you connect them to.

thanks

@markdeg What did you end up doing with the Brake and Back wires? I couldn't figure out what they would need a brake signal for or if "back" was supposed to be "reverse"

"brake" is likely meant to hook into the parking brake signal so that you can't operate some functions of the device until you're completely stopped.
