Default Five Easy Pieces

I'm also thrilled to know that all of those tiny plastic pieces are now in my cooling system.
You might find some pieces or other debris in upper center thermostat port. Have found stuff there on several occasions. The by-pass valve works pretty good as a chunk strainer.

You know you have another one of those plastic splitters on the bottom assembly too, right? You should have replaced everything on that cooling system at the same time so that you don't find yourself draining/replacing/refilling/bleeding every 2 weeks.

Thanks, I forgot to tell that while youre at home depot, go to the hammer section and get the largest ball peen hammer and insert the ball in both ends, hammer it in so that the ends of the copper tube will have a larger lip. So the hose wont slip out when you tighten the clamp. Sand the edges a bit so it wont cut the hose from inside.
Also, for some reason, I had the disco for about 13 years and never thought that the cross screw on top is to bleed the cooling system but never had any major problem with the cooling system. Its not a major concern for me now not having it.

Someone not saying it was related to dexcool...ok sure old age only. But Dexcool destroys it too. Ask me how I know.

Sure enough, got the upper hoses off and the tstat was filled with big chunks. I'm surprised it passed any coolant at all.

Anyway, new upper hoses and new tstat and all seems to be back in order, for the moment. ECU says it's running about 208. Not going to try any long trips just yet. But I will keep a ball-peened copper tee in the truck ready to go, along with a few gallons of 50/50!

Thanks, all. Now, about that bottom tee...

More Information for ÜRO PARTS PEH000080

Here is an aftermarket unit for $42. Where did you get the upper unit and what did you pay on it?

Default Plastic Specs

Had my lower hose off yesterday & checked condition of the splitter. 92-2011 PA 6.6 GF30 on molding, did a search and apparently a portion is a material spec. One mfg's MDS attached.

Fascinating! All that data and you can't find the crucial information: it will fail in its intended use environment in approximately 10 years, leaving you stranded and swearing by the side of the road, with lots of environmentally damaging fluid product spilling on to the earth!
