That will be a great mod project. The cheaper homedepot is thin and cant handle the bleed valve. Unless you press it inside and good amount of epoxy.

I just remembered that I actually made a YouTube video about this a few months back. Maybe it could help some people who are thinking about doing the copper tee conversion.

I'd just like to note that, while propylene glycol may be detrimental to the neighbors kid and your award winning teacup poodle Brutus, its not harmful to the environment in any way. It's a naturally occurring substance and is in a wide range of things including lots of foods, just in MUCH smaller doses.

Also, running with no thermostat My man, spend $60 and throw an in line stat in there. That's pretty bad for your engine and your gas mileage.

While we're on the topic of alternate hose tees, I had for a time a grey (high temp) pvc tee fitting from the local hardware store that worked perfectly. If you really wanted to add a bleed valve then you could do the same thing as the inline mod and add one of those inline temp gauge ports with a 3/8 npt plug with a wing style head. Probably around $15-20 for all three pieces said and done.

You are referring to the other glycol that's also used in potable water system antifreeze. Ethylene glycol is used in most engine coolants, it can cause death if ingested by human animals as well and possible environmental damage.
