Default Used ecu help

Hello, Disco 2 2000 approx 175 k's

My mechanic told me he traced a short in my ECU which is giving me issues with my front O2 sensors.

Replaced the sensors and now I'm going to buy a used ECU and have it programmed for my truck. does it matter what year disco I get it from? I know that some years have different options like air suspension. does any of that matter in this case?

It is said that an ECU from a 4.0 motor and a 4.6 are not compatible.

But, I have used either with success. In your case it's probably easier to find an ECU that is for a 4.0 as more were made.

The only thing you need to make sure is that the donor ECU is secondary air or non secondary air depending on your vehicle option.

Air suspension is handled by the BECM.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info. That is exactly what I was curious about. Mine has no air suspension system. So any 4.0 ltd without ACE would work?

I'm 99.5% sure ace is handled by the BECM via the ACE module, but can't give a definitive on that one.

Do you have SAI?

I just swapped my ECU and from a donor vehicle... no issues. I used a nanocom to do the security sync and then set all the settings. Easy as 1,2,3

Here is my saga... still going btw. Thinking it will be a bad O2 (hopefully) - https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...u-issue-76140/

Cheers!
