Did you use assembly lube or oil on the bearings? is it totally frozen up or just hard to spin? Maybe plastiguage to check clearances? Did you have the crank polished?

Impossible to move seems like the caps marked with the 12 and 13 aka second and third from the front. And they do slide right down in.

Assembly lube and was harder to spin as I increased the torque when tightening

Main caps are marked 2, 3, 4, etc. Post a pic of the assembly and we will see if we can help.

The bearing caps do the side bolts help align them in so they stay square ??

I’ve been following this thread because I’m about to start the reinstall of my crankshaft soon (block comes home from the machine shop tomorrow). Just out of curiosity, did you follow the crankshaft refit procedure in the rebuild manual? There’s a pretty specific torque sequence for the bolts and they aren’t all torqued to the same value. I’ll try and post a picture.
