Anyone have any tips for removing the metal nipple on a 03? That sucker won't budge and I don't want to tear it up with pliers.

 

I just took a small vice grip and turned it back and forth nice and easy, came right out.

 

Did that tear up the metal quite a bit?

 

Nope, i just got it on nice and tight the first time and it didn't slip at all. just a nice and easy back and forth took it right out. Just be careful not to go too too tight or you might bend it like I did in the vice when I was drilling it. If you use a tiny vice grip you probably wont have to worry.

 

Exactly, pb blaster and vise grip did it for me. You won’t tear the metal up. It’s a pressed fit but will come out.

 

Thank you Landy and Old Bertha, vice grips did the job cleanly, just took a bit of rocking back and forth before it popped out.

Hopefully this make's the Disco run a bit smoother!

Got that nipple out finally. Lots of PB Blaster and gentle tugging with vice grips. Now if I read things correctly, I’m supposed to enlarge the small hole on the nipple? 3/8?
