Default Venting hose gas tank

Hi all,

a couple of days ago fuel was dropping from under my d2. I did fill the tank max.

after looking around it looks like a fuel tank venting hose is done, see photo attached.

i’m looking for tricks to replace this line and hope i don’t have to drop the fuel tank 😂

I spliced in a new piece of hose on both my D1s (3/4 inch ID as I recall, but double check).

The PVC adapter was a tight fit so the old tube split again. Ended up wrapping with stretchy 3M self-adhesive tape (needs to stay very clean during install) and clamping with a hose clamp. Both systems have been holding pressure for years now (whoosh when gas cap opens after driving) and no more gas smell.

There are threads on this forum about how to completely replace the tube.

I dropped the tank today and replaced the breather line, all good now. Thanks!

That’s good. Once a guy decides he needs to drop it, it’s not that big of a job.
