Going to install new t-stat (190) and wanna make sure I've got the right stuff to but back into my '03 disco.

FYI, not sure if it matters but I live in "Bahston," and never off-road my disco. Just look-cool-soccer-dad.

Thanks,
Rob

We went with the Ford G-05 coolant as the coolant has both the fast acting protectants similar to the green coolant and the long lasting protectants similar to Dexcool.

re: long lasting protectants similar to Dexcool.

The owner manual says replace every 2 years. Or 30,000 miles. Leaving anything in for extended periods invites sludge buildup in skinny passages capped by brittle plastic, making rodding out the radiator not very cost effective. The Dexcool lasted long enough to turn to Dexmud and sludge up the radiator.

It is an OAT, but it does not contain 2EHA. Which it what causes the issues with dexcool.

I don't like life time coolant of any color or brand.

And the coffee cup pix above seem a bit bogus if left one is supposed to be full of green coolant.

it is rather strange the a 50 / 50 mix is clear, yet 1 quart of water wetter is enough to change color?

yeah, i've noticed that while filling and bleeding, the relatively small amount of ww, completely transforms the green shade of my entire volume of coolant.

And what is more shocking is that he did the test on his living room carpet. If my wife caught me doing that there would be hell to pay!
