Well, it doesn't feel sloppy but it just is the only thing I could see that would be an easy fix maybe. lol What would a cv joint cost to repair. I'm thinking more and more it could be a cv joint.

haven't visited in a while. great board. I am getting a low freq humming vibration from below from 30 - 60 mph only while accelerating in '99 D2 w/ 118K miles. Thanks for this thread and will do the reco'ed checks. Would appreciate the post-mortem on what finally fixed your problem, where you got parts if you ended up swapping or rebuilding shafts or joints (or worse!). Thanks much- Dave

It is advisable to change all three on the front shaft, once you are at it.

You can't judge a u-joint by how it feels or looks. How old is it, how often do you lube the u-joints?
