Wandering steering from left to right, started after new parts and tires
#11
Hi, I am in the UK for a few more days. Since being in the UK I have learned a lot about why my truck wanders, mainly due to the awful state of the roads and copious potholes. I reckon the wandering is a result of bump steer due to bad shockers, springs and Panhard and Watts bushes. I have now bought new Terrafirma AT shocks and HD steering shock, new front springs, new rear air springs. The next job after fitting these will be replacing all the suspension bushes with orange, dynamic Polybushes. I am also looking into the steering and suspension ball ends for any play.
The bump steer only became evident en route and in the UK which is something which although a phenomena common to competition setup also is common in worn suspension setup. It should be an interesting exercise eliminating this malady over the next couple of weeks. I'll post the results as I progress.

I can agree. Often new tires often seem 'slippery' mainly due to shape and not being bedded (worn) in and the release fluid coating the treads which makes the truck appear to wander. I wish it was so in my case but I fear it's age and mileage creating tired suspension causing this also linked to bump steer due to spongy bushes and steering joints.
