I jinxed myself!
My driver's side A-Pillar cover is cracked all to hell, the clips pulled away from the windscreen and 2 of the 3 plastic rivets that hold it in tore through the cover.
This sucks. Now I'll replace both of them.

Hello,

I'm trying to start this repair.

I've taken the A pillar covers off my parts truck - they're in really good shape.

I've got new rivets and clips.

I took this in to a vehicle window shop and they wouldn't work on it - said it needed body fill, that I could use silicon but it would retain moisture and rust it worse.

I've looked at the TSB - says to remove quite a bit but it seems like I can see what I need to seal without removing anything...?

A few questions:

-What sealant do I use?
-How do I reattach the A pillar covers with the clips?

Really appreciate your advice, please see photos of everything below.

Thanks!

I think I finally found the true source of my leak. The water is rolling off the edge and through this opening at the end of the rain gutter near the windshield. I have some Sikaflex 295 uv on the way to reseal the entire rain gutter.

Are you guys saying if I plug this gap up in the gutters, my headliner won't be wet anymore?

Haha.. Obviously a guy from BC would know a thing or 2 about rain proofing!
Thanks, I have to pull the headliner to get redone anyway so I'll get into it soon and start going over it all.
Good timing I suppose

Just re-did the headliner myself and took the opportunity to install the ham radio on the top of the upper console trim by the windshield. I do not live far from Richard (I am in Chilliwack). Let me know if you guys want to get together. I can give a few tips on the headliner re-install.
