Default water pump

I had a shop down the road tell me my waterpump was leaking but I think I'd like to see for myself before I replace it. I've been watching the vids and reading the forums and they talk about a weep hole down by the pump that is a sure sign, if leaking, then the pump is failing. I'm assuming I just need to run the engine and look down around the pump to the right, (I think that was where the weep hole was) and check for any drips? I can't find any other leaks in the cooling system and I'm pretty sure the head is still good as I don't have any signs of a bad gasket. I also wanted to ask if around the 100K-120K mile mark is pretty common marker for the water pump to fail. This looks like a pretty simple job and would only need a 36 mm fan clutch wrench to get it done.

If you get it up to temperature and let it run for a few minutes and then shut her down you'll also want to look not only at the weep hole but at the main outer seal area. That hole is meant to be a warning that the inner seal is leaking and the outer seal is soon to follow. Not always 100%

Weeping hole is in the left side of the pump if you are looking at it from the front of the truck. Mine as soon as it warm up started slowly dripping, placed a card board under the engine and you can notice better where the leak is coming, if you look at the weeping
hole you immediately see traces of coolant

If you see anything around the weep hole its leaking, could be dried white or pink powder
