Default Water Pump Replaced!

First off, huge thanks to everyone in the last thread, you guys are awesome. On Saturday morning I got my British Atlantic box and installed the new water pump and thermostat! Yes, it took a little over 5 hours, and I was covered in black (I want to detail it now). But after the blood, sweat and grease, the turn of the key (after frantic checking to make sure everything was right), it cranked up beautifully! There were almost tears of joy, and somehow it felt like a passage into manhood. :P

Anyhow, while I was under the truck (had to take a panel off to reach 2 bolts I dropped) I noticed a random loose hose. It's under the left front light and is approximately 1/4" in diameter, and I've been driving around with it completely disconnected. Anyone know what it is? I've been looking through the various RAVE diagrams but haven't found anything similar.

Thanks again,
-Matt

Love that feeling.

As far as the hose, I doubt its a breather, as they are all hard plastic and end pretty high up (so you don't get water in them). Can't be any more helpful than that, but good job on getting dirty.

I'm thinking either the headlight washer jet hose, or possibly one of the breathers for the foglights. When I first got my Landy, while replacing the engine, I couldn't believe how many things were shielded, vented, or had breather tubes.

Now there's a good idea.

I believe the headlights are supposed to wash every 3rd time you wash the windshield. I'd try 4 or 5 times washing the windshield and then get out and see if there's a puddle under there.

*and you have to have your headlights on for the washer jets to squirt every third pulse. Headlights off, and you could drain your reservoir, have a clean winshield, and dirty headlights.

That is very interesting, will check it out tomorrow but that sounds right (the right side has what looks to be the same type of hose running into the actual light).
