Default what is this all about?

Just the Facts:

Land Rover is recalling 180 vehicles, including the 1995-'99 Land Rover Discovery, the 1999-2004 Land Rover Discovery II and the 1995 Range Rover Classic, because the driveshaft may detach, according to NHTSA. Dealers will replace the rear driveshaft couplers. The recall is expected to begin on April 23.

WASHINGTON — Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling 180 vehicles, including the 1995-'99 Land Rover Discovery, the 1999-2004 Land Rover Discovery II and the 1995 Range Rover Classic, because the driveshaft may detach, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

"Some of the rear driveshaft couplings may not have been manufactured to the required engineering design specifications and may exhibit the onset of joint separation, precluded (sic) by drive line vibration," said NHTSA in its recalls summary of the problem. "If this increased vibration warning sign is ignored, catastrophic failure of the drive coupling can occur.

"The driveshaft may detach from the vehicle while in motion, resulting in loss of drive and loss of transmission park functionality, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash and/or injury."

Dealers will replace the rear driveshaft couplers. The recall is expected to begin on April 23. Owners can contact Jaguar Land Rover North America at 1-201-818-8500.

Inside Line says: If you own a 1995-'99 Land Rover Discovery, the 1990-2004 Land Rover Discovery II or 1995 Range Rover Classic, be aware that a recall is in the works.

Basically your rotoflex had to have been replaced with an OEM Land Rover part during a certainly time frame last year or early this year, or this doesn't apply.
