Default What is this bracket/shelf for on a 2004 D2

I recently replaced my stock front prop shaft and while underneath found this shelf/bracket with my head, after a few choice expletives took a closer look. It almost looks like a battery shelf. Does anyone know what its for. It is on the driver side between the front and rear door on the outer frame. Only the driver side has one. Also there are 2 welded rings on the frame. One on each side what is their purpose?

That bracket was for the SLS pump for your rear air suspension which you no longer have.

That is the space where the air compressor goes on trucks with SLS.

The front and rear rings are towing tie downs.
