Today I tried to get new tires. Nothing I liked in my price range in a 255/65r18, but they had a set of 5 Goodyear Wrangler Trailmark in 265/65r18, and the wife approved spending what's left of our tax refund on tires for the Rover... but the tech wouldn't work on her because of the crappy stock lugnuts... he knew he could get them off, but he wasn't sure he could get them back on in usable condition. Told me to come back with new nuts... I'll be hitting the auto parts store tomorrow, then the tire store, and then hopefully hitting the trails with a buddy of mine who recently got back into offroading... he bought a newish Jeep, and hasn't really hit the dirt since he sold his old International Scout to my brother.

I found a place here in California that sells solid, chrome finish lug nuts for stock Rover wheels... no cap to bulge, dent, or come off... they can be had on ebay for about $130 a set, with free shipping.
