What i did was put hot glue on top to seal out the water and they hold up great! the reason i had to swap the original one out was i am sure i kicked it while getting on the ladder because it stuck out a little.

had two recoveries today, dodge ram 1500 and an f250 that sunk to its frame. for the f250 one my rover had an xterra as an anchor and i drug us both closer trying to winch out, then i had an f250 as an anchor diesel and drug us both so then the f250 had a jeep and still drug us forward. another jeep pulled up and the xterra got behind it and with both of us winching we drug the vehicles again till an f150 anchored to the xterra.
good times!

I bought a brand new iPhone 6 last monday, so I figured it was about time to replace my broken DC outlet so i can charge the damn thing while I'm driving. I ordered one from LRNJ's Amazon store on Thursday, and it arrived today. Maybe took me an hour tops to get the old one out, tweak and solder wires on the new one a bit, and get it reinstalled. If you have small hands like me, you can manage the whole project just by maneuvering your hand under the dash panel in the passenger footwell.

In the aftermath of my AC drain line overflow, I finally concluded that the carpets were dry enough this morning to reassemble everything (kick panels & new tread plates / screws). I've had some pans of Damprid stuffed under the foam to suck moisture out of the foam for about 2 weeks now coupled with a dehumidifier I've been running in the truck every night.
Those lines are too easy to clean, so do it right now and save yourself the headache of wet carpets!

Yesterday: discovered a pretty bad diesel leak, discovered the seal around the diesel pump was bad so replaced which fixed the leak.
Today: sealed 2 holes either side of the windscreen, top corners, where water was pouring in and soaking the headliner. Headliner was also hanging off so with some textile adhesive spray, stuck it back.
Tomorrow: fix my parking sensors

Working on my winch install
My daily driver I want a winch on for relative light use. I made good progress on the project. I took the winch apart to rotate the clutch handle to an easier to grab angle (due to being mounted under factory bumper) while it was opened up I added a good bit of marine grease to the moving parts, some rtv on the seals/joints for better protection. I've got to finish my mounting brackets this week and then will be ready to finish install and wiring.
