I agree but you were definitely comparing apples to oranges there.
Land Rover is reintroducing the Discovery name to the USA as a mini brand that encompasses a number of vehicles.

The discovery sport is the Lr2 replacement. We have not yet seen the new Discovery 5/LR5 and for that I think we should withhold judgement.

P.s. I also have a '12 LR4 in addition to an '04 Discovery and an '83 109. What a beast of a car the LR4 is!

Replaced the old and failing throttle body cooling lines with steel braided fuel line. Temp rated up to 300 degrees so should be good.

on a side note those little AN looking clamps to give them a pretty finished look are a complete pain.

I got a set of four Cooper Discoverer S/T tires installed. I got them from the owner of a local independent Rover shop who had them for less than a year and put probably 5000 miles on them. He added a lift to his truck and went with something bigger. Cost me $250 for the tires and another $50 for mounting and balancing. Would've been at least twice that much for anything new that I would have wanted. The S/Ts would probably not have been my first choice otherwise but the deal made sense overall and hey, it's a 16-year old truck that will soon see only occasional use. Plus the old Michelin Cross Terrains were down to the wear indicators and I needed to pass inspection this month. Now I can take the money I saved and go buy sliders. Anyone want to buy a pair of chevron running boards?

I replaced the A pillar mouldings on Saturday after my college commencement ceremony! The new ones are matte black, not shiny. I'm okay with that though.

Later on at dinner my parents hand me a card. Inside I found a Navy Federal bank receipt for the amount of $4241.77 I was really confused about the number, and then I realized my auto loan is through Navy Federal. Amazing.

How difficult were these to remove? I did the best I could, but I'd like to get them out to get all the little angles in there. Probably going to throw a HID kit in and replace a running indicator bulb too.

If you could, let me know what you used? Or make a post about it? Thanks!

I've been getting a horrible rattle in the rear. Only took a few minutes to locate..

The culprit:

Pulled the cover and found this:

A quick dig in the garage for the component speaker sets I ordered for the Defender. 6.5" Renegade component set. Ran about $35 a set shipped off egay. Perfect fit!

All back together and sounds great. Not bad for a 30 minute job and $35 total cost.

...got klobbered by some falling rock on I-70 in the Rockies. I'll need a new windshield and will have to replace my friend's roof box which got a nice 10" hole in it. Patched the hole with some cardboard and Gorilla Tape and onward to Canyonlands.
