Bought myself a 9000lb strap and a 3/4" D-ring for this weekend. Going out to Lost Knife Edge in Waiparous, AB for some wheeling. Hoping it will be good and not too snowy, I checked out another group of trails last week and they were all ice still

Working on a 4 channel camera system.

1. backup
2. under car, front axle, facing rear
3. under car, rear axle, left side
4. under car, rear axle right side

2-4 are for spotting lines on the trail as I mostly travel single vehicle

A rotary switch will go up front to toggle between the different cameras.

Mostly just a fun project, hopefully it will actually turn out to be useful. Finished pics tomorrow

each camera has LED's on them. I have rock lights as well

Default 2000 Disco PCV

Yesterday I decided to change the PCV. Sounds simple enough. Those stupid little single use clamps or whatever they are called took some prying to get off. Got regular hose clamps as replacements. In pulling the hose off the port that goes into the plenum, the plastic portion of the port was basically crumbled where the clamp was located. To make matters worse, in removing the hose where the PCV was, a portion of it came off with the hose.

Thank goodness for a local wrecker, where a used port and hose were found. The remaining PCV was firmly lodged in the hole and was simply blocked. I picked at the thing and it did not move. Knowing better that drilling it out could lead to having plastic bits roaming about the valves, I just reattached the hose and port and call it good. Likely hold off until the gasket needs replacing, and I will deal with it then.

Best4x4 found that you can use a Fram fv308 pcv valve, but it threads into the intake manifold, and the hose that goes to the valve cover attaches to the pcv.
The plastic piece in the valve cover is completely removed.
A much better working system.
Several of us have bought one since, and they are only around $8.
Worth doing.

Grabbed some oil at Wal-Mart today and for the first time in years I didn’t buy the usual 15/40w rotella.... It is nearly 15.00 now for just 4qt + 10.00 for two more qt’s (I normally just buy another 4qt), but today I came home with some Valvoline 10/40w blend oil instead. We’ll see how my seals do with the blend vs rotella, but with the extra $$ I saved I was able to toss in a fuel cleaner.

I was going to just get the Castrol 10/40w blend, but when I saw proud sponser of the NFL I put it back and got the Valvoline with a dang American Flag on it lol.

Interesting idea, Almost the same set up with the D1 GEMS engine (the PCV location is at the plenum). So the FRAM fv308 just screws where the hose port used to be. That still leaves trying to remove the old PCV. Or what remains of it.

Yes I would remove the old spiral plastic piece from the valve cover for the best flow. After that remove old plastic nipple from the intake & install the FV308.

The separator is unnecessary? If so I should not have ordered one!

After you swap it over to the FV308 it shouldn’t really need the baffle/separator anymore.
