I went trail running and camping to test out the latest work I've done. The buzzing of the traction control system is stuck in my head. Everything worked very well. Front hub seal is holding strong, as is the diff pinion seal. Having working radius arm bushings is a god send. Very happy with the terrafirma adjustable shocks... the settings actually make a difference. Used the winch once. Need to get my CDL project finished for sure

On the way home, got a P0101 code. Tried putting in a new MAF and resetting adaptive values, p0101 is now pending. Long term trims are now at +7.5% (up from 3%) after the 50 miles home. Also seeing an intermittent code 38 (P1884) Altitude invalid on the transmission ecu. Hmmm

Power seems low... I struggle to push 50 mph going up 8% grades. Truck wants to stay around 3k rpm in 3rd.. if I give it any more it shoots to 4200+ rpm in 2nd (and get screeching sound). Think I need to do a compression test. Loud high pitched ticking appears to be coming from the fuel rail...

Installed OME Medium Duty Springs and Nitrocharger Shocks this weekend. Netted about 1.7" of lift. Adding bigger tires next.

Before - After:

Best tip ever to avoid having to use spring compressors - use a Bottle Jack:

Do you drive your truck upside down so it doesn't get dirt on the undercarriage??

Ha! Yeah, the San Diego climate does help. No rust/corrosion issues to deal with. But uh, I did scrub the front end suspension areas before I started the job..

I replaced the leaking brake master cylinder with a new unit from L8. Bleeding the brakes was surprisingly easy with a helper, and I no longer have to two-step to brake effectively! I also replaced the POS plastic switch panel in between the seats with a solid faux-wood one that runs the length of the center console, much sturdier. This afternoon I'm going to take apart the driver-side mirror to see why it isn't defrosting, and put grip tape on my tree bars.

I didn't work on the rover today, but I got back at a set of wheels I've been meaning to strip and refinish. I accidentally left the first one in the chemical bath over night which corroded the **** out of the aluminum. Now I have a lot more work ahead of me, but I can see progress slowly. The other 3 are getting mechanically stripped by hand as the hard anodizing isn't as hard as I originally anticipated. Here's some pics:
