Drove an hour east to buy a used Nanocom Evo for £180 ($233) for a Disco 2!
Even though it’s for a TD5 Disco, I now have to update it and buy the NCOM15 unlock code for my Motronic V8 ($64).
The Nanocom Evo is a nice bit of kit for our Land Rovers. You’ll be really surprised at all it does.
It’s well worth the money and I’m glad I finally bought one.
I have ben living with a P600 error for the last two years on my 00-D2. I replaced the speed sensor in the tranny (needed fluid change anyway) and still the error is there. The next step I guess is what? instrument cluster?

Since picking up the Nanocom I’ve enabled Fog Lights on my 04 D2 S, disabled the seatbelt warnings (drives me nuts off road & I’ve always worn my seatbelt on the road), installed an 03-04 Cluster into my 02 Kalahari (like the 03-04 style) and SYNC’d it with my BCU, and on my 99 D2 I was shocked to find the SLABS unit settings basically defaulted. It didn’t have the proper config at all (I replaced the original SLABS unit with an 04 unit when I did the CDL install). And I made the Fog Lights stay on no matter if I have hi/low beams on.
VERY handy diagnostic tool and I’m extremely pleased with it.
Installed Terrafirma steering damper today. Replacing original stock unit. A few things I noticed... The bolts had blue locktite on them, Is that necessary? And I noticed the bushings on the drag link ends didn't seem to have much resistance to the turning forward that happens when you apply pressure to the damper bolt. I'm sure they wear out but how easy should the drag link roll forward and backward? It doesn't look like they would be to hard to change out.
Update after test drive... Wow I should have done this a long time ago. Huge improvement.
