There is always vinyl wrap if you want to try things out before painting... Looks like you did well. What did you end up paying?

OK... more like 'what are you about to do to your DII?': I had a tow bar delivered and am flying back to Phoenix on 08/11 to test it out on the Disco's hitch and then drive to OKC to pick up a new toy:

Plan to initiate the GF's 16 year old on some simple technology... and then send it back east for some fun in New England... instead of one of the 914's.
Guess I need to edit my signature too!

Can't make it any worse than it already is haha and just $1k. Had some small stuff like door lock pin and a busted window regulator and cylinder 1 misfire but an afternoon or two got all that cleared up.

157k miles, oil change, new plugs, wires and coils and she runs like a top. Have an in-line t stat kit from extinct ready to go in, just need to finish working on another vehicle before throwing it in. Playing the waiting game for a hood and driver side doors to pop up in a junkyard or a breaker near me. Thinking of painting the roof cream. A thread last week about the heritage colors got me thinking. It痴 the wife痴 new toy so she seems to like the two tone idea.

Paint here in Denver is super inflated due to hail damage so going to try and do the roof ourselves.

I did the RaptorLiner coating on mine a few days ago. You might want to consider that since you can tone it to your color as well

Prepped with 180 and a disc sander

Masked up

Other side view.

After raptor Black was applied

I just posted some pics of what it would look like with the U-POL Raptor System on a Disco 2 , I believe it would look nice toned in your original color

I've been slowly tackling the wheel bearings/rotors. After breaking off and having to drill out a front bearing bolt I slowed way down and have been letting everything soak in deep creep for a while before hitting it with the impact gun.
Could have eaten cereal out of the bowls in the rear rotors. Missing the beach runs while I'm doing it!

Today I paid $60 to add Toyota to my Foxwell NT-510 diagnostic tester for my wife's new RHD 2005 Toyota Corolla.
Now I have Land Rover/Jaguar, BMW/Mini/Rolls-Royce, and Toyota/Lexus/Scion on the Foxwell.

Started on the headlight retrofit last night. Way overkill but the low beam spot has a bi-xenon HID projector. High beam spot had a LED high beam projector. Not sure how I値l like the LED one but figured it couldn稚 hurt to try and no such thing as too much light at night in the mountains or wheeling.

If this goes half as well as I expect I値l do another set for the new D2 we have but I知 going to look into retrofitting baja design squadron amber spots in the high beam spot.

Do you mind listing where you bought these?

the retrofit source. I made the mistake of getting the mini D2s bi-xenon kit and have had to trim the housing quite a bit to make it work. Still looks great but the Mini H1s should require significantly less trimming (more just to get things to lay flat for solid connection vs cutting to make fit)
