Decided to splurge on some new seats covers as the D2 is going to become my daily driver when my lease is up. Really, really impressed with the fit and quality. Took 6 weeks to get and was somewhere around $600 for the front and rear set. The gray looks great in the smokestone interior.

Jerry,
Are these made from Canvass? How does the material feel?
My (presumably original) plastic 4-way coolant pipe decided to shuffle off this mortal coil and discharge the contents of my cooling system onto my driveway.
Replaced it with the Carrs4x4 aluminum version, and in doing so decided that all of the attached hoses sucked, so replaced those as well. Refilled with coolant, bled the system of a large quantity of air, and away we go.
Hey.... they seem to be canvass. Material feel great. I'm in LA so a hell of a lot better than leather on a hot day. I looked at those M&M covers as well butu was nervous about buying from overseas. I liked that Knightsbridge was in Phoenix.
Improved a Harbor Fake O2sensor socket to make the job easier. The store is around the corner so figured I'd try one. Thought the Chineezium would spread, like other ones I've used, but it held up on an original sensor! The 1/2" sacrificial socket helped a lot. One less Trouble code!

to wrap my crank position sensor shield. When I was done with that, I decided to wrap my air-box and intake to block the radiant heat from the exhaust.. Not sure if this will help, but it can't hurt. I still had a little left over so I also wrapped the AC cold lines.
Had a quarter sized spot under the 04 Thursday morning, ignored it, hoping it would just go away on its own...know this never works...but, hey it's been a long week...and nope...Friday morning, size of a basketball, it's power steering fluid...great. Filled it, drove to work. Walked out at break for a cigar...well...let's just say things escalated from there. Looked at hose from reservoir to pump, seen suspicious. Pulled it down, thought maybe it was sucking air through a bad spot, since it only leaked while not running, shorten hose, reinstalled, still leaked. Filled it and drove home, 34 miles, all good, made it anyway...that's what counts on a Friday. Replaced pump this morning, had a spare from my old 01, refilled, bled, good to go. Gasket on back plate of pump had taken a dump.
Test drive was fine, washed the girl at the car wash, stopped to fill up some cans for the mower...while filling cans a ten year old kid walking out of station with his ma says..." look mom, a land rover...cool!" All of the work earlier seemed worth it, after hearing that. Funny part was...he said it just like the narrator from the Camel Trophy Years video...so either he was from England originally...or he's been watching way to many CT videos. And if it were the latter...we all know, and sympathies, with how his life will turn out. Poor kid doesn't know what he's in for...lol.

they’re cordura, which is a nylon material. Cordura is the brand of fabric and it’s what the better tactical soft goods brands uses for bags and other gear. Great stuff. Super durable and high quality. I believe the military might also use it.
today I removed the power steering pump. Tomorrow I’ll clean up the mess and I stall the new one.
new toyo MTs in 275/65/18 should go on Friday.
UPDATE: got it cleaned up and installed back in. looks like the gasket blew between the two halves on the sides. I topped it off and no noise. I'll keep an eye out for leaks to make sure it all went back in correctly, but it should be good to go. took it for a driver around the neighborhood and all seems well.

^^^Must be contagious...same job yesterday morning. Still don't understand LR engineers sometimes...that stupid stud on head that requires you to pull bracket to remove pump, and requires you to pull fan to remove bracket (unless you cheat and slide bracket forward and spin stud out of head with visegrip). But, the whole mess could be avoided if they just re-engineered a bolt application, instead of captured stud. Or, why not just two bolts, then you wouldn't have to remove A/C compressor, where in the he** do they think it's going anyway?
Anyway, LR rant for the day. But, stay tuned...more will be along shortly...lol.
