I've been wanting to do this but with my portable leaf blower and a spray bottle of dish washing soap and water.

It did although I think ultimately it was the stud I replaced. 2 out of 3 nuts came off, but the 3rd pulled the stud out.

I did install one of the $50 SAI pumps off of Ebay. much quitter, the original sounded like a jet engine. For $50, it included new rubber bolts. I suppose we will need to see how long it lasts, but seems like a reasonable gamble at this point.

I think about that every time I go to the store, they never seem to have the right size in stock.

Found my fan shroud further damaged over the weekend while camping 4+ hrs from home and 14 miles of moderate-difficult wheeling. Cut the shroud back to try and keep fan from imploding on the way home. Could see at the campsite that at least the driverside motor mount is completely trashed and I bet the pass side is too. A little frustrated as they are maybe a year old and less than 10k miles on them. Oh well at least it's something that broke from use and not age/rover issues.

The original filter has a tendency to disintegrate and isn't replaceable.

Make sure to replace any broken mounts while you're working in that area. These ones are fine:
