Changed my cheapo tstat to an actual LR 180 tstat and then my worn fan clutch. Temps dropped over 25°F.
only took about an hour and a half maybe. Good win today.
Fedex decided to finally deliver sliders. Only 2 weeks late and allegedly damaged but all seems fine. Hopefully my windshield cowl arrives this week and I can get around to washing the truck.
Very nice^^^^^^been thinking about adding another pipe to my rock sliders, too give me a bit more toe hold while deploying RTT. Like that little bump out on yours.

Thanks! Yeah I really liked the shape of these ones. The fit was a bit fussy and the holes on the truck needed some enlarging to fit well but I still like them. Easy install nonetheless!

That little kick out is something I've been meaning to add to my sliders as well. Really really beneficial off-road as well. Saved my buddy's 4R big time when it took a nap on hells gate. No major damage other than a scuffed fender and cracked mirror housing and a little scuff on the slider kick out.
Just picked up used OME springs and front shocks for the green disco. Going to move the big blue springs and the fox shocks from the front over to the RRC. Hopefully this will soften up the green ones ride a little bit. With no armor or steel bumpers those fox shocks are harsh.
A few firsts this weekend. first trip outside nashville since that first 12 hour drive when I bought it. temps were great. got 15 mpg on the way down to Birmingham with the wife and kiddo ( 400 mile round trip). I was a bit nervous about taking the Disco with the wife and kid, but everything on it is up to date.
My transfer case leak I've been eyeing for the past 4 months didn't like cruising at 75 mph for 3 hours, so it spit out a bit more than normal, so I hit the parts store for some thicker 75w-140, but when I barely cracked open the fill plug on level ground, some oil spilled out, so it still had plenty. IT's either leaking at the case input or the intermediary shaft o-ring. I went ahead and ordered an 88k mile 04 case from will Tillery that I've been talking to him about for a few months, and he'll have that on the way later this week. then the 04 conversion will be complete. if my case didn't leak, I would probably just swap the nose cone, but it'll be nice to put a leak-free case with CDL in.
main reason we took that disco instead of our travel vehicle (2013 outback) was so I could finally pick up this 6 x 10 utility trailer from my Father in Law. He was gonna sell it, so I offered to buy it and he just said I could have it. can't hate that!
On the drive back temps were noticeably higher in 80 degree weather, but only peaked at 194 and rested mainly at 188-190. My temps on the drive down were 183 in similar weather, so the added 1000 lb trailer weight and higher revs definitely added to the temps. I also had to get a 6" drop hitch to lower the trailer tongue a bit. overall it did great, but really wanted to drop to 3rd at any sort of uphill and would rev at 3k to 3500 rpm on the uphills. overall, it did great, but I didn't want to push it too hard so I kept the speeds to around 68-70 the whole time. I'm definitely glad I went with 32s instead of 33s on this disco, unlike my old one.
Overall, I'm glad to have some utility back since I sold my tundra and have been borrowing my buddy's sprinter van for big Home Depot runs. this will make project a lot easier!
