Replacing a crank sensor wouldn’t be a big deal if I didn’t have large forearms.🤣 luckily for me, my neighbor has skinny arms and isn’t afraid of getting dirty. It was strange having someone else working on her.
I had a slow leak on my thermostat, upon inspection it looks like the housing is not quite round and the thermostat did not seat well. Took a Dremel to it and fits much better. Hopefully this is the fix.
I think you will find temperatures much more consistent if you cut that jiggle pin out. Are you running a re-usable silicone gasket, really ideal for getting the system to seal without needing precision machining.

Mine had similar "straight" spot so I ended up using the pair of paper gaskets instead of the silicone and that made the seal perfect.
I am using black permatex and paper-like gaskets. not exactly paper, but thin, fiberous material. I should probably consider a silicon gasket, my plan is to swap the higher and lower temp thermostats in the winter/summer.
Well it has gotten colder 40F here in Sw BC and I have discovered that my in line setup is running cold 166-174 most days. I did not want to mess with a setup that is perfect for summer off roading, so I have added a Radiator grill cover.
Cover opened up Closed
I woll report back after this coming weekend off road trip, as to effectiveness
Hit up 7S02 over the weekend. Make it half way before needing to head back for the Iron Bowl.
It was a great road. Looking forward to heading back and finishing it.
I've actually thought about changing the grill so I can open and close slats, to restrict airflow when it is colder, and completely open up and turn on a fan when it's hotter.
I actually have a headlight leveling interior unit from the UK, which I want to use to control the airflow. The electrical I can workout, but need to mechanically build a method to control the new grill (plus, build the grill)
What'd I do with my DII? I brought home a Christmas tree! I've wanted to bring home our tree on the top of my Disco for years but it's been dead. I LS swapped it earlier this year and it's working great so I finally got to use it to bring home our tree! Not only is the tree on top, it's tied down to my prized crossbars which are very rare for '04. It was a great day!

Vacuum actuator similar to used in pop up headlights, commercial hvac shutter actuators, automotive hvac blend door actuators, linear actuators, etc. I can imagine a number of methods. I seem to remember some of the larger HD trucks have a similar system.
