Not so much what I did for my Disco but my friend bought a Puma unlock code for €62 ($64) to add to my Nanocom for his 2009 Defender. We both agreed to the terms if he bought the code he can borrow my Nanocom with the blue OBD lead.
Win-win situation for both parties.

Sorry to make another post but I have to come on here to say that - after many, many weeks of working on it after/during work and school - I finally finished the head gasket job on our 1999 D2. No garage, no driveway. Worked on it on the street outside the house that luckily isn't too busy. Just took it around the block and no check engine, all looks good so far. Don't want to get carried away celebrating yet.

Also making this post to thank everyone on this forum who contributed information - old and new - that was so helpful. Also thank you to Atlantic British for making the head gasket videos that shows everything you need to do from start to finish. Huge thank you to Terry Penniket at WO Bentley Repairs in Royal Oaks, CA. He told us we could do the job ourselves to save the money and told us everything, gave us his spare tools without our asking, and refused to take any cash as a thank you. Really good man. If you need service in the Monterey/Santa Cruz area, look him up. He is cheap and very experienced and does an amazing job. Used to be service manager at the dealer in Monterey. And he's British so we have to trust him. We also texted him several times about concerns and he talked us off the cliff.

Congratulations. You have more chutzpa that I would have had. No garage and no driveway. And good for Terry Penniket for being a standup guy.

You should maybe try to meet up with Brandon318. He's active on this forum and must live not too far from you.

There's a guy here in Charlotte, active in this forum, who swapped the engine in his DII in a gravel lot a block from where he lives. I'll respect his privacy and not name him here, but ... Amazing.

Someone Saturday night came through and cleaned out the green disco and RRC cats....white one is straight piped from an earlier attempt earlier this year. Ordered 2 sets of the CARB compliant (yay CO wants to be like cali....) universal cats from Autozone which hopefully arrive sooner than later this week so I can either weld them up myself or have a shop close to the house do it if there prices aren't out of control.

Went to do a little exploration of some new trails & a couple of favourites around Buxton, blew an airbag & spent half an hour field-fixing it with a length of thick-walled tube wedged in between the upper bag mount & radius arm end, finished the lane we were on & then limped 30 miles home. Fortunately it was not unexpected as I'd noticed a bulge last time I was under there (hence being prepared with the bit of pipe and straps etc) and we're due to pick up a set of +2" springs tomorrow anyway so will be converting it over to coils as well as gaining an extra bit of towbar clearance.

Replaced the radiator. The transmission oil cooler cracked at the joint when attempting to wrestle the radiator out from the oil cooler assembly. One of my friend did a great job welding it up. Ouch, new oil cooler assemblies are over $600!

Well, not today but..

We went for a road trip to Lapland and returned on Monday.
~3000 km (1800 miles) driven, ~420 liters of diesel burned and ~1200 EUR spend on the diesel.
Around 2,50 EUR per liter, consumption around 14 liters per 100 km.

ARB Flinders on the roof, and a whole lot of stuff in the back weighing the rear down almost 2 inches.
Had fun and will definitely do it again.

Picture taken near a wilderness hut in the lapland, far from everything. It was 23 kilometers from public roads and took around 1h45min to drive to. As far as I know, that the only hut You are allowed to drive to.

One small mishap with the truck.
After returning from the offroad track from the wild, I noticed that the truck was spewing it's oils out.
The roto filter cap had come loose and let it all out. Tightened it and put 5 liters of oil in and continued the trip. I topped up coolant once or twice, maybe total 0.5 liters.
