What did you do with your DII today?
finally got my new front driveshaft in. took it for its first drive after a month of being in the garage having the head gaskets done. i got it back to the garage and turned it off to see smoke coming from the engine. started to poke around and found oil coming from the valve cover gaskets dripping on the exhaust manifolds
i put a socket on the valve cover bolts and they were loose enough to turn by hand

Got rid of my Dexcool in what felt like a 97-step process. Glad to have it done, though.
Also put in a Motorad 180 thermostat, which will hopefully come in handy in our 110+ degree summers (it was 68 last night and I thought it was frickin' freezing). I also got some water wetter, but haven't put it in yet.
Oh, and I cleaned up the garage a little bit - that counts, right?

Took apart my serp. belt passenger side idler pulley bearing and found the ***** weren't even spinning. The grease was caked and completely dry causing the inner race to groove
New bearing was only $9 shipped as opposed to $60+ for the whole pulley.

Got my new Arnott airbags in to replace driver side leak. Really simple and quick job which I naturally wasn't expecting to be the case. They actually feel as though they ride a bit softer than the factory bags. Also replaced steering stabilizer with Terrafirma which also made the ride noticably smoother.
Installed and bled extended s.s. brake lines at all four corners. Absolutely blown away by the improvement of my brakes. No more double pumping to make a hard stop. I have a nice hard responsive pedal now
Replaced the front cover gasket. And the water outlet pipe gasket. And the upper hose assy.
And the water pump. Not because it was bad, no. Because no one in town had just the gasket itself for sale, nor would they split a new pump and gasket.
So I basically paid $116 for a new water pump gasket, and as a bonus it came with a new water pump.
Anyone want to buy a used DII water pump? It might have up to 500 miles on it but no more than 1k. Doesn't come with a gasket. Let's make a deal.

I had the clock light go out, and the light behind the buttons on the HVAC control. I wanted to get in there one time only, so I replaced the light for the clock, and all 6 lights in the HVAC control unit (3 behind the LCD screen, and 1 behind each temp control up/down button, and 1 behind the push buttons along the bottom). The 3 in display window are the same LR Part#, and the others 3 are the same LR part #. I got the genuine LR parts from from AB. They all come with the bulb in the plastic holder that turns and makes the electrical contact and locks them in place.
