I sure hope you used grade 8 bolts or equivalent on that hi-lift mount. bolts look a little small for my taste as well.

Dervish, as far as doing your gearboxes, every experienced gearbox mechanic started with no experience. I’m pretty sure you’ll do great.

Yeah, thats true.

I had never done a headgasket etc before also, and did my V8 and TD5 last year, so yeah.
Just need to get my Himalayan delivered so I have something to drive, and can have the gearboxes taken out with no hurry to have done in an evening.

Yeah I enjoy the jobs much more when I’m not under the gun to finish them.

Replaced the ACE pump. 2 hr job, still some slight "whirring" noise from the new pump. Not sure what's normal.

Default I forever simplified my transfer case oil changes

Chopped a 3/8 to 1/2 drive adapter so that my ratchet doesn’t get stuck as the fill plug comes out any more. And added some black pipe for extra leverage.

Good idea. I use a 1/2 drive wobble extension which works really well.

Oh yeah, I bought one from you a few months ago and was going to install it the next time I checked it. I just checked it on Thursday and forgot about it.
