Default What lift and driveshaft do I have?

Hi all!

Now that my engine and cooling system seems a bit more sorted. I am moving towards the next most critical components. The driveshaft. I was going to just going to order this one to be safe: https://www.lucky8llc.com/products/front-driveshaft-6 but I noticed it said that if you have more than a 2 inch lift, you need a different one.

I think the previous owner said that it has a 3 inch TF lift. I would like to confirm this and perhaps update either the springs or shocks if needed. I am pot committed at this point, so I would rather have the good stuff as opposed to just getting by.

I am wondering how can I identify if I do have a 3" TF lift or not? Also, should I have matching shocks and springs or what? Please enlighten me on this situation.

Thanks as always!

Also, I started a blog regarding this adventure. It is a bit behind as the most recent post discusses me finding out I need a new engine, but I should be caught up soon: https://maintainingdiscovery.com

No real way to find out for sure without a receipt for the parts, or a definitive from the installer. I found an overall height spec; 74.4 inches to the top of the roof. It didn't say where exactly, probably the top of the roof rack. Take a measurement and see how much higher yours is for an estimate.

Measure from center of wheel to top of fender arch. report that number here. The RAVE and several threads on here which I don't have time to find list the stock height as well as the height with a 2" lift.

Make sure you have greasable ujoints on your shafts and you'll be fine with a stock shaft.

also make sure the PO installed extended brake lines if you plan on doing moderate off roading. The stock ones are pretty tight with a lift and will rip off if you flex any amount.

Great tip about the brake lines, thanks.
