Its getting returned today...

If you need steering boxes, the one i installed yesterday to replace the rock auto unit was purchased from http://www.remsteering.com

this unit was immaculate and had a new input shaft! highly recommended...

this is why I had to replace mine (fluid leaked out from the input shaft and caused the ujoint to strip the shaft out), I agree the u joint on the steering shaft was the PITA I had to deal with too. funny thought I wonder if your rebuilt one was my old one!!!
I got lucky I found a local import auto parts store that had one in stock and saved huge because of it, it didn't come with the pitman arm so I had to have a shop pull it off the old one and back on the new one. They were friends so luckily no charge

The LCD on my clock was screwed and I wanted to replace it. The Dealer wanted $185. Atlantic British wanted $140. Now my Rover has a digital clock from a Toyota 4 runner glued in place behind the original bezel. I wired new quick disconnects, and the clock actually looks better than the original as it's a more modern digital display. Total cost? $6

Sorry, but if I'm going to pay $140 - $180 for a fecking clock, it's going to have to dance to the music...

I personally think the camshaft position sensor that I had to buy was over priced... I even got it through AB.

Whats a fat guy surcharge. I think I may be paying the skinny guy surcharge--or the tall guy surcharge. Either way its no fun!

$.99 for 4 new factory springs because mine had 170K on them. Shipping was $14 on top of that...

I'll get laughed at for this I'm sure, but I think Rover parts are very reasonable. I have 15k in parts receipts for the rebuild of my 911 engine last year. $146 for a Disco trans sump was a 5 second decision. I'm just happy to have found some really great LR suppliers from this forum.

No, they are still waiting on "parts". While doing the head gasket I had them do wires and plugs--there is no extra labor, so why not get it done. I rode my bike in the pouring rain today to work. I will tomorrow as well.

Default Wow!

$45.00 for a new radiator plug. Not the cap for the reserve tank, but the little plastis screw plug for the radiater itself. I went to a scrap yard and the man gave me one for free.

Default none really...

I really hate to say this but none are offensive....My truck new was over $42,000.00 and change.....so based on that price....it's hard to complain...just because it's worth less than a 1/8th of that 6 years later doesnt mean the parts are as well. The worst parts is that over a 10 year period you will have completly rebuilt the POS again so it gets expensive... well for me anyway, i put at the minimum 200,000 miles in less than 10 years on it as i drive the crap out of it...
