Michelin does make a good tire.

I'm going to throw my $.02 in on the Duellers. I had Dueller A/Ts on my Explorer that came with the truck when I bought it. They were the worst tires I have ever owned and I replaced them with ProComp A/Ts about 10k miles before they were due.

 

Most production cars come out with blemished or sub-standard tires. That was the stink with Firestone. I wouldn't blame a brand based on the tires it came with. I junked the factory tires when we bought the company's 06 trailblazer and put new wranglers on it. They have 66K on them and still look like they have at least another 40 left on them.

 

You will be really limited on 18" AT tires. I just put some on last month. I went with Nitto Terra Grappler AT. They are a really nice ride on road and have done really well off road.
