how do I know if I have the secondary air component? I think the car fax report I got when we bought it said it started out on California....do they all have the secondary air component..or just some? Do we still think there is no problem?

secondary air has tubes that connect to the heads and a pump is also mounted on the pass side firewall, when the car is cold the pump will run for about a minute then shut off

I am not sure there is a problem,,,I just started hearing this small compressor like sound from under the passenger side dash and got worried that something was wrong....it only comes on after I brake and come to a stop...

It has just stopped...haven't heard it in a few days? If it is that secondary air thing....why would it just stop after hearing it for a week or so?
