Default Whats envolved with swaping the 4.0 for the 4.6?

hey guys, just trying to do some research.

My 4.0 is fine for now, but when the time is right i think that i'd be down for the 4.6

as I understand they are basicly the same engine.

so then i imagine the engine will bolt up to my transmission.

but what about the rest like ecu, pumps, mounts etc etc?

To utilize the full potential of the 4.6 you will need the 4.6 ECU.
Yes it will bolt right up.
The 3.9, 4.0 and 4.6 are the same block and heads just different guts.
I am not sure about the 4.2 engine in the RRC.

I thought about that exact thing, until my money went elsewhere, like a new transmission.

There is a web site who has done this exact conversion. I emailed them and they were very helpful
