Default Whats the kit called that lets you lock CDL from inside the truck?

I know it sounds a bit sill to have to ask this, but I've searched a lot here and nothing really helps. I'm planning on adding the setup eventually so i dont have to keep getting out of the truck everytime i want to lock the CDL and un lock, tired of getting my arm burned from hot transmission, water dripping right in my eye, etc.
where can I buy the kit with the switch and can I install it myself?

www.roverlandparts.com
You can buy either a DI CDL linkage and shifter or a '04 CDL linkage and shifter, but either way you will also need the shifter as yours does not have the gates for a CDL.

Basically a locker is a whole new differential, get the CDL installed and then wait and see if you need a locker or not, 95% of off roaders do not need lockers.

I agree, granted I also have front and rear lockers, but I have done whheling on trails that most people haven't even dreamed about and for me I needed them
Get you linkage set up, make sure you have a good set of tires and run it for the season that way, then you'll know if you want to spend that extra $2500 to $3500 to totally lock up.

The "gates" are the these...

The middle is neutral, to the right is unlocked and to the left is locked, hi and lo are in the same spot for each side, but the "gates" are the spots that the shifter moves into.
Just like a manual transmission, the shift "gates" are the gear postions, so 1st is a gate, seconds is a gate and so on.
These are in the shifter itself, so if you were to put a 4 speed shifter onto a 5 speed gear box you would still only have 4 gears.
Same thing with the CDL, your shifter only moves front to back, mine moves front to back as well as side to side in a "H" pattern.
I cant really think of a better way to explain it, sorry.

So roverland says that a D1 transfer case shifter will not fit a D2, and they had no 2004 shifters in stock.... I'll get the whole deal thru Expedition Exchange...
